CYLINDER INFORMATION
NGV CYLINDER INFORMATION
The NGV tank is a tested vessel which is designed and constructed in accordant with strict Malaysia standard. All Fiber Tank concerning by Hoop-wrapper glass-fiber composite cylinders for the on-board storage of natural gas as fuel for automotive vehicles (CNG-2). All the CNG tank is approved by DOSH Malaysia.
During manufacture it is subjected to controlled heat treatment. Therefore it is imperative that no welding, soldering brazing or heating of the cylinder takes place after the manufacture of the vessel ( 3000 PSI) , all cylinders securely are constructed using fibre glass reinforced plastic (FRI) wrapped around the outside of the steel tank. This type of construction allows for lighter NGV tank but it is important the FRP layer is no damaged as this provides part of the tank strength. All steel tank and FRP reinforce steel tank must be inspected periodically. At steel tank may continue to be used for as long as these inspections show that the tank remain and sound, however FRP wrapped steel tank must be replacement after 15 years of used. In the case of converted vehicle, a CNG storage tank is usually installed in the trunk of the car. Apart from the loss of tank space, the driver will notice little difference in the performance of the vehicle thought they will notice lower fuel consumption An OEM (production line) vehicle, often has the CNG storage tank installed under a seat or elsewhere within the classis to minimize or eliminate the loss of luggage space.Standard ISO cylinder: ISO 11439:2000 (CNG-2)
When IANGV set up in 1986, one of the most important tasks was to promote the preparation of an international standard for the storage of natural gas on vehicles. The preparation of this standard took many years and was eventually published ISO 11439 in 2000. This standard has recently been revised and the draft is being circulated.
We are at a situation where there are ISO standards for most parts of the NGV system or the gaps are now being filled. It is important that the standards mentioned above are used internationally as the basis for regulatory systems in the various countries which are implementing NGV programs.

Operation of the equipment in
vehicles with Carburetor.
1. Switch from Gasoline to Gas
Move the switch to the intermediate position (lights off) The vehicle will continue working with gasoline, until consume the fuel in the carburettor. When the engine starts to stop, change the switch to gas position (gas light on). Keep the vehicle a few instants accelerated until the engine resumes your normal running. 2. To Switch from Gas to Gasoline.
Please move the switch to the gasoline position (gasoline light on). During some instants, until the carburettor is full, the vehicle will tend to stop it’s working but then it will work normally.
3. Start up with gas. Verift that the fuel selection switch is on the GAS position (gas light on). Start up the engine by slowly pushing the accelerator. This procedure should be done only when the vehicle was previously stopped with the fuel, on the contrary case, make a normal start up and proceed according to the item: switch from gasoline to gas.
